Summer Spotlight: Assistant Firm Director

Hey guys! My name is Marlie and I will be serving as one of PRowl’s Assistant Firm Directors this school year! I am a senior communications major with a public relations minor. I began working with PRowl spring semester of my sophomore year as an Account Associate on the TUTV account. The following year I was promoted to Account Executive on our St. Lucifer Spice account, PRowl’s first non-Temple related client! My time at PRowl has provided me with great hands on experience in the PR field and I am so excited to take on this role as Assistant Firm Director during our 10 year annaversary!

This summer I was lucky enough to intern for a non-profit in Center City, Philadelphia with a great mission. Nationalities Services Center provides free services for immigrants and refugees who are new to the Philadelphia region. At NSC I was a communications intern in their Anti-Human Trafficking department. Human trafficking is an issue I’ve been extremely passionate about recently and I am so grateful to have had the chance to be a part of an organization that helps human trafficking victims in my area. My favorite part of interning at NSC was being able to meet so many interesting people from all over the world and hearing their stories.

When I’m not interning or attending class, you can find me serving tables at The Draught Horse Bar & Grill on Temple’s campus. I also plan on becoming a Peer Advisor this year for Klein College’s study away office. I studied abroad in Barcelona last summer and the thought of getting paid to encourage other Temple students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities sounds like the perfect job to me! On top of interning and working at The Draught Horse this summer, I have also taken a summer class in the Summer II session. In my free time you can find me exploring the city, thrift stores, and restaurants. I also love to travel and have been on two vacations this summer to Montréal and Chicago! Both trips were a really nice break from my busy summer schedule.

I have to say… at this point I can’t wait for school to start back up again. I look forward to working with you all this year as an Assistant Firm Director!
